Nowadays more and more people want to improve the lighting in outside their residence. but they don’t know how to choose a suitable LED flood lights.
A good floodlight not only provides good illumination, but also saves energy. once you make a decision to set up any sort of outdoor LED flood lights, we would suggest that you consider the following aspects.
1. Power selection
The power of the flood light is ranged from 20W to 1000W; however, how many power should I choose? If you intend to use the lights for backyard, BBQ party or outdoor activities in your home, the lux level should be around 100. How do I find the corresponding wattage? For example, if you have a 50 sq meter yard, the brightness required is 50 x 100 = 5000 lumens. For the LED having 130 lumens per watt, the power needed is 5000 / 130 = 38.5W. And hence 40W LED would be suitable. This value increases with your size of backyard as well as lux requirement.
2. Service life
The lights having higher life span would always be your best choice because it is costly to buy the new lamps & install them, especially you are having the large-scale replacement. If you turn on the lights for 10 hours per day, LED runs 22 years.
3.Waterproof
Water resistant is a vital feature for outdoor LED flood light. To be able to work under rain or snow storm, the luminary should have at least IP65 ingress protection rating.
4. Heat dissipation
A good flood light should have effective heat sink system transferring the heat from the internal structure to outside. Aluminum is a good conducting material to fabricate the heat dissipation system. We can select the LED that is made of aluminum or the related alloy.
5.Warrenty
A longer warranty period can reduce your maintenance costs, you should choose a floodlight with a warranty of more than 5 years
